I'm currently printing hydroblocks on the Solidator. My last block is wedge shaped with springback draft angles going down to the base. Upon finishing the print I noticed there are ridges on the draft sides that look about .010 .in depth. I have the Z-layer thickness on .03mm. Does anybody have any tips on creating a smoother contour finish with the machine?

Those steps are due to the X and Y pixel size. Nothing you can do about them. The minimum "step" size in the X and Y direction is by definition the size of a single pixel of the projector. That is why I inquired about compatibility with 4K projectors, before I knew they were ridiculously expensive (over $10k!).

I recommend to use XTC 3D Coating [http://www.smooth-on.com/Epoxy-Coatings-XTC/c1397_1429/index.html] which will smooth the surface. Other solutions are to use a primer. LucidMovement here in the forum can let you know which primer works best. He said he has one that does NOT reduce part precision but fills all gaps perfectly. I would recommend to send him a Private Message. Here is a link to his fanstatic work based on the Solidator: http://flickrhivemind.ne.../Lucid%20Movement/Recent Here is a demo of the XTC Printed: https://www.flickr.com/photos/128245364@N07/16065904382 Finished: http://www.flickr.com/photos/128245364@N07/16066705392 Tim Edited by user Thursday, April 2, 2015 7:18:00 AM(UTC)
